Solvent Recovery

Solvent recovery plants are vital for complying with industrial emission regulations (Industrial Emissions – Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control Directive 2010/75/EU) and promoting energy efficiency, while also becoming a cornerstone of the circular economy.
SECTORS
Solvent recovery plants are used in a variety of industrial sectors, including flexible packaging, adhesive tapes, coatings, rubber, explosives, chemical and pharmaceutical products, degreasing, extraction, dyeing, polyurethanes, and acrylic resins. The main solvents used in these industries include:
• ethyl acetate
• ethyl alcohol
• ketones
• isopropyl alcohol
• aromatic solvents
HOW IT WORKS
For solvent recovery, hot air is used to evaporate solvents from work areas such as printing presses. Under these conditions, contaminated air typically contains 2 to 15 g/m³ of solvent and 5-20 g/m³ of water vapor, depending on the season and the region where the companies are located.
HOW TO CHOOSE
The selection of the most suitable technology depends on the specific situation and requires a thorough analysis of energy and environmental impacts to optimize results.
